SHOT  LIST    1-56
**5. (RAIDS)**
**INT. STORM ENGINE - DAY**
High in the clouds, the Storm Engine hovers like a floating island of rusty pipes and twisting machinery. It stays aloft by converting the surrounding atmosphere into a thick, swirling cradle of clouds.
This vessel belongs to the **Gold Mother**—a woman whose body ends at the waist, seamlessly attached to a well-equipped hovering platform bristling with tools and weapons. She scans the sky, waiting.
A giant cargo ship drifts closer.

**CUT TO:**
**INT. CARGO SHIP - COMMAND STATION - SAME TIME**
The CAPTAIN frowns as a meter on his console begins to flash. Temperature dropping. Atmospheric readings shifting. He knows the signs.

**CAPTAIN**
(under his breath)
Pirates...

A sudden spike on the gauge. A pirate flyer streaks past the viewport. The Captain slams the alert.

**CAPTAIN**
All hands! Evasive action!

Too late. The sky fills with Gold Mother’s pirates on sleek fliers. Ropes and anchors fire from the Storm Engine. They latch onto the cargo ship and haul it in. The entire vessel is swallowed into the Storm Engine’s massive cargo bay.

Inside the bay, Gold Mother’s pirates swarm the captured ship. They strip it of its precious haul, then begin tearing the hull apart piece by piece. The terrified crew is dragged away and locked in holding cells.

The pirates work for hours, laughing and shouting as they dismantle the ship.

**BACK TO:**
Hundreds of gold-leathered steampunk pirates stand in a long line, waiting to have their loot weighed on a heavy scale mounted to the Gold Mother’s hovering platform.

One by one they step forward.

The Gold Mother examines a mechanical tool, a jar full of golden beetles, and a shiny gold iguana. She nods.

**GOLD MOTHER**
Fifty rations and ten gallons of Muti drink.

She stores the items safely and perches the iguana on her shoulder. The satisfied pirate steps aside.

The next pirate heaves a gold-plated lead bar onto the scale. He smirks, certain he can fool her.

The Mother’s eyes light up at the weight. Then she leans in, sniffs once, and catches the scent of lead. She hides her fury behind a sweet smile and drifts closer. The pirate grins, expecting payment.

Without warning, the Gold Mother raises two large electric rods and violently disintegrates him in a crackling flash. She calmly floats back to position and gestures to the next man in line.

This pirate is visibly nervous. He sets a light bag on the scale. The Mother removes several counterweights to balance it, then peers inside. She pulls out a parcel of glowing blue jewels. Using a small device attached to one of her hover arms, she examines one closely.

**GOLD MOTHER**
(mumbling to herself)
Blue Akline Crystal...

She stares at the pirate coldly for five long seconds, then slides a sample into a projector index machine. Seconds later the device displays a holographic image of a jewel-skinned man.

**GOLD MOTHER**
Where did you find this?

**GOLD PIRATE**
(nervously)
Sand hills in the West Desert.

The Gold Mother’s expression changes. She cancels the weighings with a sharp wave.

**GOLD MOTHER**
Change course for the West Desert. Now.

The pirates break ranks and scramble to obey. The Mother smiles at the nervous pirate like a master praising a clever dog.

**GOLD MOTHER**
One thousand rations and five hundred gallons of Muti drink.

The giant ship rumbles forward at full power, the sound like the breath of a god.

**ADD: CUTE ROBOTS**
The Gold Mother activates a row of small, adorable steampunk robots—shiny brass bodies, big expressive eyes, and whirring propellers. She points toward the West Desert on her navigation map.

**GOLD MOTHER**
Find the crystal man. Bring me everything you see.

The cute robots pack up in unison, salute with tiny metal arms, then rocket out of the Storm Engine in a cheerful swarm. They disappear into the clouds, heading for the distant sand hills and caves.
SCENE  SUMMARY
High in the clouds, the Gold Mother—a ruthless half-woman, half-hovering machine—commands her massive floating pirate base, the Storm Engine. The vessel ambushes and swallows a giant cargo ship whole. Her gold-leathered steampunk pirates swarm the ship, strip it of its valuable cargo, tear it apart for parts, and lock the terrified crew in holding cells. Later, on the Storm Engine’s weighing platform, hundreds of pirates line up to trade their loot for rations and “Muti” drink. The Gold Mother rewards honest finds but brutally disintegrates a pirate who tries to cheat her with a fake gold bar. When the next nervous pirate presents a bag of glowing Blue Akline Crystals, she immediately recognizes their significance. She cancels the weighings, orders the ship to change course for the West Desert, and rewards the finder generously. She then deploys a swarm of cute, brass steampunk robots to fly ahead and locate the mysterious “crystal man” in the desert caves. Just as the giant ship powers up, the Weather Man spots something terrifying on his instruments: a Shadow Cloud—a legendary black storm long dismissed as a sailor’s myth. The Gold Mother looks through her telescope and sees the massive, pitch-black cloud racing toward them. She screams for evasive action. The Storm Engine banks hard and disappears into the clouds, fleeing for its life as the shadow closes in.
